Sooner or later, every homeowner will have to deal with some kind of indoor air quality (IAQ) and comfort issue. Those issues can greatly impact your home’s environment as well as your well-being and safety. A lot of those issues can be kept at minimum with regular HVAC maintenance by an experienced HVAC contractor like Nicholas Aire Systems. In combination with frequent service, the use of air cleaning devices like high efficient pleated air filters, UV air purification and Air Scrubber Plus systems can get rid of bad air and greatly improve your home’s air quality. The leading cause of reoccurring illnesses in a household is contributed by not only an inefficient air filter, but also not changing if regularly.

High-Efficient Pleated Air Filters

Most heating and air conditioning systems use a very basic filter. These filters were not designed to improve indoor air quality for you. A good filter is a very important part of your furnace and air conditioner not only for the equipment but for the removal of pollutants in your home’s air that can cause allergies, hay fever, asthma, or other breathing ailments. We offer a variety of advanced high-efficient air filters that can both protect you and your HVAC system. They are designed to capture dirt, mold and other pollutants and prevent them from getting distributed throughout your home.

UV Air Purification

Ultra Violet Light (UV Light) purification systems are installed into your existing or new heating and air conditioning systems to kill germs, mold and other forms of airborne pollution leaving your home or business with cleaner and healthier air. With decades of success treating waste water treatment facilities, UV systems have a proven track record in killing harmful bacteria. UV air purification systems are similar to these systems, only modified for use in your home’s air system. Combined with our high efficient pleated filters, UV air purification will leave your home with exceptionally clean and healthier air.

Air Scrubber Plus Systems

The AirScrubber Plus features ActivePure Technology which purifies the air using specialized germicidal UV light waves along with a proprietary catalytic process that creates enviro-scrubbing molecules of oxygen and hydrogen, just like nature’s outdoor scrubbers. These scrubbers work 24/7 in your living environment, continuously reducing airborne and surface contaminants, dust and odors. Germicidal UV light rays have been used for decades by the medical industry as a method for cleaning the air. However, it is only effective in reducing the airborne contaminants that pass directly through the light rays and will reduce odors in the home.

Knowing what affects your home’s Indoor Air Quality and being able to recognize signs of dirty air are the first steps to proactively dealing with the problem before it gets too extensive. At Nicholas Aire Systems we are pleased to provide high-quality IAQ service to help you do that.

Dehumidifier

A dehumidifier is generally a household appliance which reduces the level of humidity in the air, usually for health or comfort reasons, or to eliminate dank smells. Humid air can cause mold and mildew to grow inside homes, both of which pose numerous health risks. Very humid climates or air make some people extremely uncomfortable, causing excessive sweating that can’t evaporate in the already-moisture-saturated air. It can also cause condensation that can disrupt sleeping, create a situation where the cold pipes in this area begin to drip (from the condensation), and can prevent laundry from drying thoroughly enough to prevent mustiness. Lower humidity is also preferred because it limits the population of most pests, including clothes moths, fleas, cockroaches, woodlice and dust mites. Relative humidity in dwellings is preferably 30 to 50 percent.

By their operation, dehumidifiers produce an excess of water which has been removed from the conditioned air. This collected water, usually called condensate in its liquid form, is not potable and cannot be used for drinking, so it must be discarded. Some designs, such as the ionic membrane dehumidifier, dispose of excess water in a vapor rather than liquid form. The energy efficiency of dehumidifiers can vary widely.

Dehumidifiers are also used in industrial climatic chambers, to reduce relative humidity to levels conducive to processing of certain humidity-sensitive products.
